MARCH 27, 2025 – Medal of Honor recipients gathered at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia to observe National Medal of Honor Day with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Former Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Allan Kellogg Jr. and former Army Pfc. Kenneth David participated in the ceremony, continuing a tradition that honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Soldiers assigned to the U.S. Army Band, “Pershing’s Own,” also supported the event.
The annual March 25 observance — designated as National Medal of Honor Day in 1990 by Congress to foster public recognition for recipients of the nation’s highest military decoration for valor — marks the anniversary of the first Medal of Honor presentations to six Union soldiers in 1863.
