The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is a multiple-choice test designed to evaluate your skills in ten areas. In the Marines, you will have a job which is referred to as an MOS. MOS is an acronym for Military Occupational Specialty. The job opportunities open to you in the Marines will be determined by your score on the ASVAB.
To enlist with in the Marine Corps, the minimum you may score on the ASVAB test is a 32, and if you have a GED or instead of a High School diploma, the score requirement is a 50.
