SOCNAV is the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) degree program for the Navy. It consists of colleges that offer associate and bachelor’s degree programs on or accessible to Navy installations worldwide through resident courses or distance learning.

Colleges taking part in each curriculum area agree to accept each other’s credits as well as transferable Navy experience and training. This ensures that Marine Corps students and their adult family members can continue toward completion of their degrees, even though the Navy may transfer them several times.
SOCNAV participants select a home college, where they will complete no less than 25% of their coursework. After six hours of credit are completed, the home college provides a SOCNAV Student Agreement, which serves as a degree plan that remains in effect even if the participant leaves the military prior to graduation.
