Military Barracks only provide so much room and storage for clothing, so it is very important that you learn the correct, and most efficient way of folding your uniform.
Starting with your slacks, turn them inside out, then fold them vertically, one leg over the other. Make sure the crotch area is tucked in, making one solid leg line. Then fold the waist and cuffs to the center of the pant leg and fold in half, once. This should portrait a perfectly square shape.
Button-down shirts should be laid out flat, making sure all buttons are fastened. Fold the sleeves in so the cuffs are parallel to the hem of the shirt. Fold the collar and hem towards each other, leaving 4 inches between them. Fold at the center of the 4-inch space.
T-shirts should be laid out flat, smoothing out all wrinkles. Fold so the hem covers the collar, then fold the sleeves in. Fold in thirds, then fold in half. Finish off by folding the top and bottom towards one another.
Pairing your socks, lay them flat, one on top of the other, and fold in the heel section left to right. Fold toe area over to cover the heel. Roll sock tightly toward the tops until roll is even with tip of toe. Fold back the remaining unrolled part of the inside to encase the roll and hold it firmly in place.
