NOVEMBER 3, 2022 — Transitioning from military service to a civilian career is a challenge for many veterans. One way to navigate this transition is to understand the importance of the core leadership skills learned during military service and appreciate how they apply beyond the military.
In On Mission: Your Journey to Authentic Leadership (Greenleaf Book Group), former Marine Corps officers John Buford and Sean Georges highlight key elements of authentic servant leadership developed during their extensive military and civilian work experience and how these skills and traits can help veterans thrive in civilian life.
“Veterans Day is an ideal time to shine a light on the unique challenges and opportunities facing servicemen and women unsure of how to take the next steps in their lives and careers,” Buford says. “The leadership qualities Sean and I discuss in On Mission parallel the traits and skills shared by countless veterans, and we hope the book will provide support and bolster the confidence of veterans looking to excel in the workforce.”
On Mission attained Amazon Best Seller status in multiple categories, including Management Science, Nonprofit Management & Leadership, Knowledge Capital, and Business Ethics. The book also ranked as a Hot New Release in the Workplace Culture and Leadership Training categories.
